LAURA FINE HAWKES
SCENIC DESIGN
As resident scenic designer of Salem K Theatre at The Matrix, Laura has
designed this season’s previous shows,
Snake in the Grass with Director Mark
Rosenblatt and
Poor Beast in the Rain with Director Wilson Milam.  Recent
Southern California opera and theatrical design work includes: productions of
L'orfeo and Candide (Guest Artist, Cal-State Long Beach Opera) and the
upcoming musical
American Tales produced by Antaeus Theatre Company with
Director Thor Steingraber; as well as
The Libertine (Guest Artist, UCLA Theatre),
Headless (Ensemble Studio Theater LA), and Anatol (Pacific Resident Theatres)
with Director Dan Bonnell.  Additional credits include design for San Francisco
Opera’s Merola Program, UCLA Theatre, UCLA Opera, The Geffen Playhouse,
Circle X, Latino Theater Company LA,  Cal-State Los Angeles Opera, The
Odyssey, The Road Theater, and Nomad Theatre at The Matrix.  Laura is
currently working on several themed entertainment projects, including as lead
exhibit designer on The Discovery Center at The Air Force One Pavilion within
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, which opens Spring 2008.  
She holds an MFA in Scenic Design from UCLA.
