MAY ROUTH
May is the resident costume designer for Salem K Theatre Company and has
designed the costumes for
Poor Beast in the Rain and Snake in the Grass.  She
was born in India of English parentage (becoming a U.S. citizen in 2005) and
graduated from Central/St. Martins College of Design, London.  She entered the
film industry as an assistant to Anthony Mendelson on OH, WHAT A LOVELY
WAR then served as an assistant designer to Yvonne Blake on JESUS CHRIST
SUPERSTAR and THE THREE MUSKETEERS and THE FOUR MUSKETEERS.  
Among May's numerous film and television credits as a costume designer are
PATH TO WAR, REINDEER GAMES, RONIN, THE GEORGE WALLACE STORY,
ANDERSONVILLE (Emmy nominated for Costume Design) -- all directed by John
Frankenheimer -- ROSWELL, MARINA'S STORY, LUCY AND DESI: BEFORE
THE LAUGHTER (Emmy nominated for Costume Design), NEWSIES, SPLASH,
MY FAVORITE YEAR, GHOST STORY, FIRST FAMILY, BEING THERE, SGT.
PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, THE LAST REMAKE OF BEAU
GESTE, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH.  May has designed costumes for
music videos for Queen, Barbra Streisand and The Bee Gees as well as for the
Colorado Ballet's BUFFALO BILL'S SALOON and for Harold Pinter's THE DUMB
WAITER, directed by Brian Eatwell, at the Write Act Theatre in Hollywood.
