Poor Beast in the Rain

It’s the weekend of the All Ireland Hurling Finals, and the town of
Wexford is buzzing with anticipation. In the local betting shop, all talk is
of the upcoming match until the regulars get word of the return of the
Danger Doyle. Years before, he had run off with shop owner Steven’s
wife, leaving him to raise their daughter Eileen alone. Time and
Danger’s old running buddy Joe’s endless retelling of their
misadventures have elevated the man to near-legendary status. Now
his unexpected homecoming has them and his ex-flame Molly
revisiting a long-faded past, as old wounds are reopened, gilded
recollections are reconstructed, and the residents of Wexford are left,
once again, to live with the ghosts of bygone days.
